Karla Redding-Andrews
Festival Chair
Karla Redding-Andrews, a native of Jones County, Georgia, has a passion for education paired with music and the arts. She graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1985 with a BS in Public Relations and remains an active alum, serving on the Public Relations Advisory Board. In addition to her role with the Foundation, Redding-Andrews, oversees the day to day operations of the Foundation whose motto is ‘Progress through Education-Enlighten through Music & the Arts`. In addition, and with her mother Zelma, they oversee the massive catalog of works for Otis Redding along with requests for use of his name, image and likeness.
Karla currently serves as the vice-chair of the Georgia Music Foundation and is a member of the Leadership Macon Class of 2015 and a member of the Macon Rotary Club. She serves on the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings Board of Visitors at Mercer University and the boards of the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, Central Georgia Technical College, the Georgia Intellectual Property Association and the International Cherry Blossom Festival. She most recently was appointed to Macon, Ga’s Bicentennial Commission appointed by Mayor Lester Miller.
Karla received the Macon Arts Alliance Cultural Award in 2016. In 2018, she received The Women’s International Music Network’s “She Rocks Award.” Her alma mater, Georgia Southern University, awarded her with the inaugural “Shine, Black Girl, Shine” Black Women Empowerment Award from the Office of Multicultural Affairs as the Coordinator of Diversity Education and Program Outreach in 2019.
Redding-Andrews and husband Timothy have two sons, Justin and Jarred.
Kenny Burgamy
Board Chair
Kenny is a Macon native, where he was a 1979 graduate of Southwest High School. He studied mass communications at Macon College and graduated from Atlanta’s Columbia School of Broadcasting, with a focus on broadcast journalism. Kenny began his broadcast career in March 1980. In the span of more than 30+ years, Kenny has worked in the areas of radio and television news, talk radio, programming, and operations. Kenny was named Best Local Radio Personality in 2003, and again in 2008 by the Central Georgia Advertising Federation.
He has interviewed two U.S. Presidents, hundreds of federal, state, and local politicians and dignitaries, while discussing the important issues facing the community, state, and nation. In 2007, Atlantic Southern Bank, based in Macon, hired him as their Corporate Communications Director. From 2008 until 2012, Kenny wrote a weekly column for the Macon Telegraph that appeared in Sunday papers and served as a visiting member of the Macon Telegraph’s Editorial Board.
Kenny joined WMAZ television as morning anchor in 2012. In 2014, he joined the staff of the Georgia Farm Bureau and started a stint as co-anchor and Field Reporter with the Farm Monitor TV program seen on 12 Georgia television stations, Georgia Public Broadcasting and national cable channel RFD-TV based in Nashville, TN.
In the Fall of 2016, Kenny was named Brand Marketing Manager at Farm Bureau. He was named Associate Director of Information/Public Relations in February 2018. In May 2019, Kenny was promoted to the position of Director of Information/Public Relations. He serves on several Macon area community boards including; Macon’s International Cherry Blossom Festival and South State Bank’s Community Board. Kenny and his wife Dawn have been married 39 years and have one married daughter, Morgan Adams. They have one granddaughter, Kennedy Adams born in April 2020.
